Session ID#:12 What makes a good MVP?
Description: The purpose of a product Minimum Viable Product (MVP) is to quickly and cost-effectively bring an idea to market but also that validates the product thesis. A good MVP should be designed with the customer in mind and focus on solving a particular problem. It should have limited scope and simple design to test key assumptions, while also being feasible to build within budget and timeline restraints.Developing an MVP also requires close collaboration between stakeholders such as developers, designers, marketers, etc., and effective leadership from those with product vision. Furthermore, clear testing criteria must be established in order to measure success or failure of the product before it launches in full.In this session we will go over what an effective MVP should have.

Session ID#:20 How Do You Define Product Success? Choosing Metrics That Matter
Description: Whether creating a new product or enhancing an existing one, measuring the impact of that work is a critical part of product management. Metrics help align the team around customer/business outcomes, validate investments being made in the product, and show the value of work the product team is doing. However, many product teams struggle with product metrics — common mistakes include not identifying key metrics, choosing the wrong metrics, or not having systems in place to track metrics. In this session, attendees will learn the different types of product; how to select the right metrics for their product; and how to avoid some of the common mistakes. They will also have a chance to use what they learn to come up with (or improve) metrics for their products and get expert feedback.

Session ID#:25 Trademark Searching: It’s better to know now than pay later
Description: Before you invest time, money and energy into a brand name, company name or logo, it is vital that you consider whether or not you will actually be able to use that name. Tens of thousands of dollars and months of your time can be lost if you later discover that another company is already using the name and could ultimately result in you going back to square one. In this workshop we will walk through the initial steps you can take to determine if a name is clear to use and discuss what must be done to protect that name or logo.
